VISION & MEDICAL
Contact lens is a marvellous invention. It is classed as a medical device. So contact lenses must be prescribed and not purchased over the counter without a prescription or worse, bought on the internet! It is possible to lose your vision due to contact lens-related problems after using them without proper fitting procedure and care. You read it in the newspapers but sadly, it is more common than we like.
We, at Martin Steels, have experienced optometrists to care for your eyes and fit the most appropriate contact lenses. We have extensive knowledge and experience in contact lenses as well as how to prevent, diagnose and manage contact lens related problems.
We are able to prescribe visual correction for myopia (short-sightedness), hyperopia (long-sightedness), astigmatism and presbyopia (for those who needs multifocal). As well as that, we are also a specialist centre for medical contact lens, receiving referrals from Eye Hospitals. This means we fit contact lens for medical reasons such as severe dry eye, keratoconus, corneal ulcers, following corneal transplant and certain types of corneal degeneration.
