Our Dispensing Opticians are ready to talk you through the choices you need to make in terms of balancing not only how well a frame suits you in terms of looks, but also how well it suits your lifestyle and what environment you need the spectacles for. For some people who work in arduous environments going for the more expensive but better engineered frames may prove to be more cost effective than selecting standard frames.
Lens technology
Along with selecting the right frame, our Dispensing Opticians can also advise on the best lens technology for your spectacles. You may be amazed at how quickly lens technology is moving along with advances in materials and manufacturing techniques allowing lenses to be lighter and thinner than ever before. Coating technology means that lenses can now be made which reflect less light which both improves the appearance of the wearer and enhances visual clarity. Improved performance is not only for single vision lenses, but also for multifocal lenses which can now be customised for each individual. Modern techniques mean that multifocal lenses will be shaped not only to to match the specific spectacle frame chosen, but also by the way in which they will primarily be used (such as VDU usage).
